Restaurant La Taverna del Coure: Reviews & Ratings
The restaurant was really lively and the service was super efficient and quick. I had the patatas bravas and padrón peppers for the tapas. The brava sauce was really good and it was my first time to taste it. I wanted something non alcoholic and got a lemonade which was extraordinary. The food overall tasted delicious and i had a good experience. I did not reserve a table but if you are s large group would suggest to reserve prior to avoid any waiting. Happy eating
We visited this restaurant and were very pleased with our experience! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with great attention to detail. We ordered paella and it was truly delicious — definitely lived up to our expectations. We also want to highlight our waiter, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and friendly, which made our dinner even more enjoyable. A wonderful place, highly recommended!
Ordered a few different tapas. The garlic prawns were fresh and nice and bouncy in texture. Cod fritters and meat croquettes were crispy and full of flavour. Cris gave us a warm welcome and recommended the Iberian ham with tomato bread. Those are really great combo! The sourness of the tomato balanced out the richness of the ham really well. The black rice paella also tasted great. Full of flavour, with a rich seafood taste

Nestled in the heart of Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Restaurant La Taverna del Coure is a vibrant culinary gem that captures the essence of traditional Spanish tapas and paella with a modern touch. From the moment you step inside, the lively atmosphere blends effortlessly with attentive, friendly service—highlighted by staff like Cris and Miguel—who make every guest feel welcomed and well cared for.
The menu is a celebration of well-executed classic dishes. The patatas bravas come with a brava sauce that is bold yet balanced, an introduction to the flavors of Spanish tapas for first-timers. The padron peppers add a pleasantly smoky note, while the garlic prawns stand out for their fresh, springy texture. Cris’s recommendation, the Iberian ham with tomato bread, is a flawless pairing where the acidity of the tomato cuts through the richness of the ham, creating harmony on the palate.
Paella here is undeniably a highlight. Guests rave about both the traditional versions and the black rice paella, which bursts with intense seafood flavors layered deep into each grain. Every dish is prepared with a clear respect for ingredients and technique, fitting perfectly with the casual yet refined atmosphere of the restaurant.
Sitting on the terrace, surrounded by clean and inviting decor, you can pair your food with a thoughtfully curated selection of Spanish wines or a refreshing, extraordinary lemonade—perfect for those seeking non-alcoholic options.
